About This Audit
The compliance audit conducted for the Ringgold Area Firemen’s Relief Association covered the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023, to assess if corrective actions addressed prior findings and to check compliance with state laws, contracts, bylaws, and administrative procedures concerning state aid and fund expenditures. The audit, not conducted per Government Auditing Standards, concluded that the relief association appropriately addressed previous audit findings and complied significantly with applicable regulations. Total expenditures amounted to $17,062, mainly allocated to insurance premiums, equipment purchases, maintenance, and bond premiums. The audit commended the relief association’s timely receipt and deposit of state aid, encouraging continued adherence to relevant requirements. This audit report was shared with key stakeholders, including the Pennsylvania Governor and officials from involved municipalities. The relief association maintains accountability by ensuring proper financial records and complying with legislative requirements.
