The Wiconisco Fire Company Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association – Dauphin County – Audit Period January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023

An audit of The Wiconisco Fire Company Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association for January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023, was conducted based on authority from Pennsylvania’s laws. The audit goals were to ensure corrective actions from prior audits were taken and compliance with state laws regarding state aid and fund expenditures. The audit found the association addressed two out of three past findings but failed to maintain a Pennsylvania Sales Tax Exemption Number. This noncompliance could lead to unnecessary tax payments, reducing available funds. The management agreed to address this issue. The audit confirmed compliance with laws in most respects, except this noted issue. Final conclusions encouraged timely corrective action for unresolved findings.
