About This Audit
The compliance audit of the Centre Square Firemen’s Relief Association covered January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2023, scrutinizing adherence to Pennsylvania state laws, contracts, bylaws, and procedures related to state aid receipt and fund expenditure. The audit, not conducted under the Comptroller General’s Government Auditing Standards, aimed to confirm the alignment of financial activities with relevant regulations. The audit concluded that the Relief Association met compliance requirements in all significant respects. For 2020-2023, the association spent $868,687, with total cash and investments at $2,176,777 as of December 31, 2023. Funds were sourced from Whitpain Township, based on the Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Distribution Law, valued by municipal population and real estate.
