About This Audit
The Huntingdon County Children and Youth Agency completed the Amended Fiscal Reports for the fiscal years July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2023, in compliance with Act 148 of 1976. This assessment verified the actual commonwealth expenditures for resident children’s welfare services. The engagement was limited to fiscal report submissions to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, focusing on adherence to regulations without professional auditing standards. The agency’s fiscal reports for 2021-2022 required no adjustments, while the 2022-2023 reports saw two adjustments increasing expenditures by $15,532 and revenue by $13,543, resulting in $2,498 owed to the county. These results were discussed with county representatives and forwarded for further review by DHS. Depending on DHS’s decisions, county authorities may appeal any adjustments. The review promotes effective fund utilization for children’s welfare in Huntingdon County.
