About This Audit

The Limited Procedures Engagement (LPE) for Myerstown and Vicinity Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association was conducted for January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023, under Pennsylvania constitutional and fiscal guidelines to ensure proper fund use and compliance with the Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association Act and Act 205 of 1984. The LPE assessed if the relief association properly expended funds and received state aid. The assessment included $504,880 in total expenditures, with $350,429 meticulously reviewed. It concluded with no unauthorized fund expenditures or mismanagement of state aid. Relief association officers are tasked with internal controls and compliance with state laws and procedures. The association’s cash and investments as of December 31, 2023, totaled $1,005,638. The relief association demonstrated proper financial management during the audit period. This report will be accessible to the public, ensuring transparency in the association’s financial activities and the prudent management of public funds.
