An audit was conducted on the Ronco Community Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association (RCVFRA) in Fayette County, PA, covering activities from January 1, 2020, to December 7, 2023. The audit aimed to check if RCVFRA had rectified issues noted in a prior audit and whether it adhered to state laws and protocols concerning state aid and funds management. While the audit found that the association took corrective action on six of the nine previous issues, three areas remained unresolved: undocumented expenditures, lack of surety bond coverage, and failure to maintain meeting minutes. Furthermore, discrepancies such as inappropriate rescue vehicle ownership and incomplete equipment records were noted. By December 7, 2023, the RCVFRA had dissolved and merged with the Adah Volunteer Fire Department Relief Association, transferring its assets and equipment. This audit underscores the need for the implementation of recommendations to enhance compliance and operational transparency.
