About This Audit

We conducted a compliance audit of the City of Williamsport Police Pension Plan for the period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024. The audit evaluated whether corrective actions were taken on prior findings and if the pension plan complied with relevant laws, regulations, and policies. Our procedures verified the proper determination, deposit, and calculation of state aid, employer and employee contributions, retirement benefits, and compliance with reporting requirements. The City maintained compliance in all significant aspects, except for a repeated finding of inconsistent pension benefits. This inconsistency between the plan’s governing document and the collective bargaining agreement has been cited in 12 previous reports but remains unsolved.
