About This Audit
The compliance audit of The Relief Association of the Citizens Hose Company of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, was conducted for the period January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024. The audit aimed to determine compliance with state laws, contracts, bylaws, and administrative procedures regarding state aid receipt and the expenditure of relief association funds. While the relief association generally complied with the relevant state requirements, a notable exception was the failure to update bylaws to reflect the current VFRA Act instead of the outdated Act 84. The audit recommended that the relief association’s officials review and update their bylaws to ensure compliance, and they agreed to do so. The audit was performed under the authority of the Constitution of Pennsylvania and relevant state codes, although not under Government Auditing Standards. The relief association officers were thanked for their cooperation during the audit process. This is an automated summary. Please rely on the contents included in the released audit report.
