About This Audit

A compliance audit was conducted for the East Stroudsburg Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association, covering January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2024. The audit aimed to assess corrective actions from a previous audit and compliance with state laws concerning state aid and expenditure of funds. While the association corrected two of seven prior findings, five issues remained, jeopardizing future state aid allocation. Specifically, the audit revealed noncompliance in areas such as undocumented expenditures, inadequate policies, and unauthorized spending. Although financial records showed a cash balance of $475,209, verification was incomplete. We recommend addressing these findings promptly to ensure continued compliance and funding. The management has been informed, and their cooperation during the audit is appreciated. This is an automated summary. Please rely on the contents included in the released audit report.
