About This Audit

A compliance audit was conducted on the F.W.M. Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, for the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2025. The audit aimed to evaluate corrective actions taken since the prior audit and to ensure compliance with state laws and other applicable regulations concerning the receipt and expenditure of state aid. The audit found that only four of the nine recommendations from the previous audit were appropriately addressed. Specifically, the organization failed to document expenditures, maintain proper bond coverage, obtain a sales tax exemption, maintain accurate equipment records, perform inventory checks, and secure signatory authority. These issues may lead to withholding future state aid distributions. The relief association is urged to implement all recommended actions to ensure compliance. Despite the findings, the audit noted cooperation from association officials. This is an automated summary. Please rely on the contents included in the released audit report.
