About This Audit

The compliance audit of the Hamlin Township Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association, conducted for January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024, aimed to evaluate compliance with state laws, contracts, bylaws, and administrative procedures related to state aid receipt and fund expenditures. These audits were authorized by Pennsylvania’s constitution, Fiscal Code, and the Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association Act. The relief association complies significantly with all applicable regulations for state aid and expenditures. The audit confirmed $13,447 in expenditures, with precise categorizations for benefit services, fire services, and administrative services. This audit emphasizes the importance of proper financial conduct and record-keeping by the relief association, which operates separately from the affiliated Hamlin Township Volunteer Fire Department. The final report, appreciated for the cooperation of the association’s officials, is available to the public and distributed to relevant authorities, including Governor Joshua D. Shapiro and Hamlin Township officials.
