About This Audit

The audit conducted on the Kittanning Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association for the period of January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2023, aimed to assess corrective actions and compliance with state laws concerning state aid receipt and expenditure. The audit confirmed corrective actions from a previous report and compliance with relevant state laws, with the exception of the timely receipt and deposit of state aid. It was observed that the association failed to deposit the 2021 and 2022 state aid allocations in a timely manner, as required by legislation. Despite this shortcoming, the audit verified a total of $141,769 in investments and $37,528 in cash as of December 31, 2023. Additionally, the total expenditures during the audited period were $64,834. The relief association consists of Kittanning Hose Companies No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6.
