About This Audit

A compliance audit of the Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company Relief Association, covering January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024, was conducted under the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania authority. The audit aimed to assess whether previous audit findings were addressed and if the association complied with relevant state laws, contracts, bylaws, and procedures regarding state aid and fund expenditures. The audit found that while the relief association took corrective action on two of four previous findings, it failed to maintain a complete and accurate equipment roster and conduct annual equipment inventories. Efforts to verify the association’s cash balance and obtain copies of checks were unsuccessful due to incomplete records. While generally compliant, the relief association needs to address these deficiencies to ensure full compliance. The audit report was discussed with management, and officials were thanked for their cooperation.
