About This Audit
The Limited Procedures Engagement (LPE) examined the Portersville-Muddy Creek Township Volunteer Fireman’s Relief Association’s financial transactions from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023. Conducted under Pennsylvania state law, the engagement aimed to verify that funds were spent appropriately and state aid was correctly deposited. Through reviewing financial records—such as bank statements and other relevant documentation—and engaging with relief association officials, the evaluation confirmed that $26,678 was spent in compliance with legal requirements. It was found that no unauthorized expenditures were made during this period, and state aid funds were deposited correctly. The audit was conducted without adhering to Government Auditing Standards and does not preclude future compliance audits. The association’s officers are responsible for maintaining internal controls and documenting financial transactions. The Department of the Auditor General thanked the relief association’s management for their cooperation.
