About This Audit

The compliance audit of the Relief Association of Wyomissing Volunteer Firemen, conducted for the period from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023, assessed the association’s adherence to state laws and proper management of funds, as stipulated by the VFRA Act and related regulations. The audit highlighted the responsibility of relief association officers to maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with state laws and procedures. However, the audit found a failure to maintain a complete and accurate equipment roster, which could hinder effective monitoring and safeguarding of the association’s assets. The audit concluded that, except for this issue, the association mostly complied with legal and procedural requirements during the audited period. The report discussed these findings with the association’s management, suggesting improvements in maintaining detailed equipment records and conducting annual physical inventories.
