About This Audit

The compliance audit of The Volunteer Fireman’s Relief Association of Riverside Borough, conducted for the period from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023, aimed to verify if previous findings had been addressed and ensure compliance with state laws, contracts, and procedures. Conducted by the Department of the Auditor General of Pennsylvania, the audit confirmed that the relief association took appropriate corrective action and was compliant with applicable regulations. The association, which received funding from various municipalities, is responsible for managing state aid with effective internal controls. It maintained $39,388 in total cash and reported $40,991 in expenditures for benefit and fire services. The relief association has made significant progress in complying with prior audit recommendations. The results were reviewed with management, and commendations were given for their cooperation throughout the process. Copies of this public report were distributed to governing bodies and municipalities involved.
