Examples of Duties
The DAG is looking to fill one (1) Auditor 1 position within the Bureau of Municipal Pension Audits in the Southeast region. The Auditor 1 position ensures that pension plans established by municipalities for their police officers, paid firefighters, and non-uniformed employees are properly funded and are administered in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contracts, procedures, and policies. The Department of the Auditor General is required to audit every municipality which received general municipal pension system state aid. Work duties include, but are not limited to:
- Researching, learning, and applying laws, regulations, guidelines, and auditing standards
- Locating, evaluating, and analyzing records and other information
- Creating, inputting, accessing, and retrieving data, including but not limited to audit work papers, audit findings, and audit/administrative reports
This position covers the Southeast Region, including Dauphin, Lebanon, Lancaster, and York counties.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, home headquartered
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will be expected to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Associate degree from an accredited college/university with an area of concentration in accounting, business, data analytics, finance, economics, math, or a closely related field; or
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, business, data analytics, finance, economics, math, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in accounting, auditing, or a closely related field.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- One or more of the following certifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP)
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
