Examples of Duties

This position helps guide the Department of Auditor General in improving employee performance and supporting positive employee relations. The role provides direction on performance programs, training, and workplace compliance that will help guide employee relations functions to support a strong and effective workforce. With our team, you will perform the following duties:

  • Performance Program Oversight: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive performance management program, including administering disciplinary protocol and policy enforcement processes, tools, and documentation for both union and management employees
  • Training and Coaching: Design and deliver training and coaching for management and employees on performance expectations, feedback, goal setting, and evaluation practices
  • Employee Relations Support: Offer advice and assistance to resolve workplace matters in a fair and consistent way
  • Collaboration with Leaders: Work with office and bureau leadership to establish performance standards and job descriptions that match Department goals. Build strong partnerships across the Department with leadership and employees to support a consistent and effective performance culture
  • Performance Data Review: Analyze information and trends to find gaps and recommend improvements
  • Corrective Action Guidance: Support documentation and protocol for corrective action and discipline in line with policy and master agreements


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in performance management, talent development, or organizational effectiveness.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating performance management programs with measurable organizational outcomes.
