Auditor General DePasquale Releases Audits for School Entities in Bradford, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lycoming, Mercer and Montgomery Counties

HARRISBURG (June 12, 2014) – Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today announced the release of audit reports for school districts in Bradford, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lycoming, Mercer and Montgomery counties.

The Department of the Auditor General examines the records of school districts, charter schools, intermediate units, and area vocational-technical schools. The audits — among other things — assess whether or not school entities received the state subsidies and reimbursements to which they were entitled, accurately managed taxpayer funds, and complied with ethics codes. The audits also determine whether or not teachers and administrators were properly certified for the positions they held during the audit period.

Bradford County
Wyalusing Area School District
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative
procedures.

Delaware County
School District of Haverford Township
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative
procedures.

Lackawanna County
Lakeland School District
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative
Procedures except for two compliance related matters reported as findings regarding errors in pupil transportation resulting in an underpayment of $86, 183 in subsidies and reimbursements and errors in student data reporting resulting in an underpayment of $56, 150.

Lancaster County
Conestoga Valley School District
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative
procedures.

Lycoming County
Loyalsock Township School District
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative
procedures.

Mercer County
Grove City Area School District
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative
procedures.

Montgomery County
Lower Merion School District
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative
procedures.
