Auditor General DePasquale Supports Minimum Wage Increase
Increase would boost state, local economy
HARRISBURG (May 31, 2018) – Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today renewed his support for raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour.
“I support raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour because is the right thing to do for workers and for Pennsylvania’s economy,” he said, noting that at the current minimum wage, a full-time worker earns just $15,080 per year — far below the federal poverty level for a family of three.
“I commend all of the participants at today’s rally in Harrisburg for highlighting the need to raise the minimum wage,” DePasquale said.
“Other states that raised the minimum wage are seeing their economy grow and unemployment decrease.”
