HARRISBURG (Jan. 18, 2019) – Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today expressed his support for Transportation Security Administration workers who rallied in Pittsburgh for an end to the federal government shutdown.

“TSA workers remain dedicated to protecting public safety despite of being forced to work without pay,” DePasquale said. “Hard working Pennsylvanians are being hurt by President Trump’s stubborn and childish behavior.

DePasquale noted that the TSA workers were joined by U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb, U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle, and Darrin Kelly, president of the Allegheny-Fayette Central Labor Council.

“There is no good reason for President Trump to keep holding vital government employees and contract workers hostage,” DePasquale added.

DePasquale noted that he was unable to attend the Pittsburgh event because he visited the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in Harrisburg, where he urged Pennsylvanians to help individuals and families who are struggling as a result of the federal government shutdown.
