HARRISBURG – Auditor General Timothy L. DeFoor today announced the release of compliance audits for district courts and county government offices in Allegheny, Bradford, Bucks, Butler, Centre, Clearfield, Cumberland, Delaware, Erie, Forest, Huntingdon, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Montgomery, Northampton, Northumberland, Westmoreland and York counties.
“We audit district courts and county row offices to determine if the money they collect on behalf of the Commonwealth has been correctly reported and sent to the appropriate state agency,” Auditor General DeFoor said. “The law requires these state agencies to use the funds for programs that impact our daily lives. That’s why it’s so important for everyone to visit our website to see how taxpayer dollars are being spent.”
The department has created a Be Audit Smart section on its website to help inform Pennsylvanians about how their tax dollars are being spent. The district courts and county government offices audit reports are linked below or available online at www.PaAuditor.gov/audit-reports.
Where applicable, the audit reports note any necessary adjustments and include recommendations for stronger internal controls.
