About This Audit
The compliance audit of Clarion Borough’s General Employees’ Pension Plan assessed adherence to state laws and regulations for the period through December 31, 2024. The audit, conducted under the authority of the Municipal Pension Plan Funding Standard and Recovery Act (Act 205), aimed to verify proper administration of the pension plan covering state aid deposits, employer and employee contributions, and retirement benefits. Clarion Borough’s pension plan, managed through local ordinances and collective bargaining agreements, was found to be in full compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards. The audit also reviewed actuarial valuation reports to ensure they were submitted on time, in line with Act 205 requirements. Although the Borough’s basic financial statements are audited annually by an independent firm, those were not reviewed during this audit. The Auditor General thanked Clarion Borough officials for their cooperation throughout the process. The pension plan is successfully managing its obligations. This is an automated summary.
