About This Audit

A compliance audit of the Thornbury Township Non-Uniformed Pension Plan, under the authority of the Municipal Pension Plan Funding Standard and Recovery Act (Act 205), was conducted to assess if the plan was managed in line with state laws and regulations. The audit examined state aid deposits, employer contributions, and retirement benefit calculations between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, with all findings indicating compliance. State aid and employer contributions over this period were verified against requirements, and it was confirmed that no employee contributions were needed. The audit results showed compliance in all significant respects, and township officials were cooperative. The pension plan, established on January 1, 1990, is a single-employer defined contribution plan with no mandatory contributions from active members. The report, available publicly, was distributed to key township officials and the Pennsylvania Governor. The audit concluded that the pension plan was administered correctly.
