HARRISBURG (July 18, 2019) – Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today said his department is conducting its annual financial audit of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), the state board that regulates the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages.

"The PLCB last year reported sales and tax revenue of nearly $2.6 billion, of which more than $700 million went to the state’s General Fund," DePasquale said. "My audit will verify the board's financial statements are accurate and complete."

The audit, which will cover the 2017-18 and 2018-19 fiscal years, is expected to be finished by December. It will examine items including the PLCB's operating income, net cash flow, assets, liabilities and costs.

The PLCB hires the Department of the Auditor General to perform this audit, which is required by law.
