HARRISBURG (April 5, 2019) – Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today condemned Sen. Daylin Leach’s reported threat to withhold funding from the Lower Merion School District in Montgomery County.
“As Auditor General, I understand the value of adequately funding school districts and the impact it has on students’ lives. It is totally unacceptable for any elected official to threaten funding over a dispute they have with the district’s leadership. I will continue to ensure that our investments in education are spent efficiently and effectively in the classroom.”
DePasquale added this latest incident is exactly the kind of inappropriate behavior that he pointed out in his Jan. 29 call for Leach to resign his Senate seat.
