Auditor General DePasquale Releases Audits for School Districts in Delaware, Franklin and Wyoming Counties
HARRISBURG (July 9, 2015) – Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today announced the release of audit reports for three school districts in Delaware, Franklin and Wyoming counties.
The Department of the Auditor General examines the records of school districts, charter schools, intermediate units, and area vocational-technical schools. The audits — among other things — assess whether or not school entities received the state subsidies and reimbursements to which they were entitled, accurately managed taxpayer funds, and complied with ethics codes. The audits also determine whether or not teachers and administrators were properly certified for the positions they held during the audit period.

Delaware County
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative procedures, except for one compliance related matter reported as a finding regarding the district lacks sufficient internal controls over its student record data, and two matters unrelated to compliance that are reported as observations of personnel records for administrators were not adequately maintained or provided in a timely manner and the district lacked sufficient internal controls over payments made to an independent contractor which resulted in overparments of $10,566.
Franklin County
Chambersburg Area School District
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative procedures.
Wyoming County
Lackawanna Trail School District
Complied, in all significant respects, with applicable state laws, contracts, grant requirements and administrative procedures.
