Auditor General DePasquale Responds to NAACP’s Call for Audit of PA Human Relations Commission
HARRISBURG (June 6, 2019)– Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today issued the following statement in response to a request from the state chapter of the NAACP, which called on him to audit the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC):
“I share the concerns expressed yesterday by NAACP leaders. That’s why in April I called for the resignation and replacement of commission members who were party to a lawsuit involving allegations of employment discrimination that cost taxpayers $260,000.
“My office is presently deliberating all its options, including an audit, to help the PHRC fulfill its mission to the people of Pennsylvania. Should any new actions be imminent I will announce them at the appropriate time.”
