Auditor General DePasquale Says Philadelphia Pension Plans Benefit from Following Audit Recommendations
HARRISBURG (Feb. 22, 2019) – Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today issued the following statement on news that the financial condition of Philadelphia’s employee pension plans improved last year:
“I commend Philadelphia officials for making tough decisions and following recommendations from my previous audits to help get the city’s pension plans headed in the right direction.
“It is welcome news that the city’s pension plans took in more than they paid out last year.
“Obviously, there is a lot more work to be done to ensure the plans can meet obligations to public servants who pay into them, but the latest news provides a glimmer of hope.”
